Royal Purple King of the Wing Mid-West Swing Ends With Rain Out
Synder Claims Mid-West Championship

July 22, 2017 – Clio, MI
Twenty-two drivers were on hand to compete in the last of 3 Mid-West races Saturday night at Auto City Speedway but Mother Nature had other plans. Rain fell overnight and early morning. Cloudy skies greeted the fans as the entered the pits at 1 pm. Everybody was checking their weather apps on theirs phones all report 0 percent chance of rain the rest of the day. By 2 pm there were breaks in the clouds and it looked promising to get the races in. Sprintcar practice was scheduled for 4pm. Local race divisions were on the track from 3 to about 3:45 when rain started to fall on the track. After track drying was complete the first group of Sprint cars ran 8 laps at speed as the 2nd group of cars were being fired off rain again fell on the Speedway. Track Officials scanned the sky’s only to see heavy clouds in all directions and the facility and had no choice to call the event...Read More

July 22, 2017 – Toledo, OH For the 2nd day in a row Kyle Edwards was the quickest Royal Purple King of the Wing qualifier Friday night. This time he shattered the old record of 12.24 set by Aaron Pierce on July 2, 2014. His record setting lap of 12.142 equates to over 160 mph around the ½ mile track.
